Brief History of Somy Ohuabunwa

Chisom Chizobam Ohuabunwa aka Somy Ohuabunwa is a Nigerian gospel music teacher and songwriter born on 4th June 1992. She is the second child and daughter of the king and Mrs Felix Ikechukwu Orakwue.

Somy hails from Unubi, Nnewi-South LGA, Anambra province but is married to Mr Chigozirim Golden Ohuabunwa, the last child of Mazi Sam I. Ohuabunwa from Athens, Arochukwu, Abia region.

She attended Queen Yaba College, Lagos with his high school education and went on to study law at Middlesex University in England where he enrolled in an LLB.

She also attended Nigerian Law School, Lagos where he obtained his Bachelors in Law degree and was invited to a Nigerian bar.

Somy Ohuabunwa began her music career after joining a Pentecostal church choir in Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 10 when she started composing songs.

She always wanted to make a career in music, but his father insisted that he first complete his studies before music, which he did with great determination.

Somy Ohuabunwa also started a Christian blog on her Instagram page in 2017 where she shares the word of God daily through related discussions.

She is a seasoned writer. He has written more than 100 songs and is now ready to share them with the rest of the world, starting with his first song titled, “onye’m nno na obi ya” which means, “the one I am”.
