TOPIC: Praising God – Our Purpose In Life (Seeds Of Destiny 23 September 2022)

SCRIPTURE: This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. Isaiah 43:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Praise is the recognition and fulfillment of man’s purpose and assignment in life.

MESSAGE

Scripture makes it clear that the absence of joy is an excess of dryness in life and destiny; when praise is not in place, dryness in life is in place.

This is confirmed in Joel 1:12 which says:
The vine withers, the fig tree withers; the pomegranate, also the palm tree and the apple tree, and all the trees of the field withered, because joy has departed from the sons of men.

This means that praise is the key to a prosperous life and destiny. To praise God is to experience the freshness of life and destiny. When men stop praising God, they begin to dry up in life. So the importance of praise and worship cannot be overemphasized.

If praise is so important to life and destiny, the question is: So what is praise?
Praise is the recognition and fulfillment of a person’s purpose and task in life.

From our anchoring Scripture, we can see that the purpose of our lives is to give praise to God. We live to honor, praise and worship God. So to praise God is to recognize that your purpose and mission in life is to praise and worship God. And you fulfill this purpose by worshiping God in truth and in spirit. That is true praise and worship.

Beloved, your creation was not your decision; you didn’t come into this world because you chose to. So your task in life cannot be your decision, but your discovery. I will give an example: it is the car manufacturer who determines and defines the functions of the car. Also, for example, the crimping iron was not made to be used as a microphone; it cannot be used as a public address system as a microphone.

So choose to praise God because you were created for God’s pleasure, to offer Him praise, worship and adoration, both in this life and in the life to come. Praise is man’s eternal commitment to God.

Remember this: Praise is the recognition and fulfillment of one’s purpose and mission in life.

TASKS:

Choose to praise God for the fulfillment of God’s purpose for your life.
Let everything you do bring praise to God.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask You to clothe me in the garment of praise. Help me fulfill the reason for my creation by praising You constantly, Lord, in Jesus’ name.
