READ: Matthew 10: 24-31
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
24. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If 25 they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26. Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28. And fear* not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul
29. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
MESSAGE
Jesus came, saw and conquered. Despite the many challenges he encountered, he overcame them. As his disciples, he wants us to follow in his footsteps and do the same.Jesus was called Beelzebub [Prince of the Devil]. and warned his disciples that they too might witness such accusations. For nothing is hidden that is not revealed (v. 26).
Therefore, they should not be afraid of what people can do to them, but of God. Christians are here to represent Christ as His ambassadors on earth (2 Corinthians 5:20). Do not allow the world to set a different standard of living for you.
Become a disciple of Christ. Be honest when serving him. Never mind what people say about you when you are doing the right thing. Be open to the guidance of God’s Spirit as you act. You are safe when you are on the Lord’s side. In any situation and at all times, your primary goal should be to do the will of God, not the will of man. Do not be afraid to preach the gospel because God is with you.
