Powerhouse gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard releases a new song, “The Church I Grew Up In,” off her live recorded new album, HYMNS, out October 7th via Motown Gospel. The soothing, heartwarming track is preceded by the project’s lead single “The Moment.”
The Church I Grew Up In gives listeners a glimpse into Tasha’s life growing up while telling a liberating story about the Church’s positive influence on her life and what she is today.
“…If you want to know where my story began, If you want to know why I am the way I am, It’s the church I grew up in,” she sang “…From the vows to the funeral The church bells, They still ring, Here I am learned the gospel, and my mother taught me to sing.
“..You can try to tell me the church isn’t alive today, but I know it is, so I’m going to tell my kids,” the Grammy-winning singer added in the song as she told us assured that the Church is still alive today.
