Love Like the Falling Petals is a 2022 Japanese film directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa, written by Keisuke Uyama and Tomoko Yoshidaand and starring Kento Nakajima and Honoka Matsumoto.

Haruto Asakura falls in love with hairdresser Misaki Ariake and proposes to her. Watching Misaki Ariake work hard to achieve her goals, Haruto Asakura, who almost gave up her dream of becoming a photographer, begins to pursue her dream again, but Misaki Ariake is diagnosed 10x faster than usual.

PLOT
Emerging photographer Haruto meets a young, talented hairdresser, Misaki. She was immediately taken aback when she saw him and her fears.

Misaki reveals that she was his first client, which she found attractive. Haruto bends the truth and presents himself as a photographer.

Haruto keeps coming back, to cut his hair and they both start talking. One day, Haruto decides to ask Misaki about the day and brings up the subject while he cuts his hair. Unfortunately, she shakes her head and leads him to cut off her ear, making her weak.

A few days later, an angry Misaki meets her to apologize for raising the question of the day, which she agrees with. Misaki’s defensive older brother refuses, however, as he only wants the best for her.

They go for a day to see sakura, or cherry blossoms, in which Haruto reveals that he is not a photographer yet and is at a crossroads. Misaki is incredibly angry and adamant that he pursues his lust, not giving up easily.

Haruto, surprised but determined, takes the advice seriously. He gets a job in a photo studio and continues to work hard. She asks him again and he agrees, enjoying it.

They go out and have fun, which leads to both of them loving and enjoying being together.

The story of the slippery sail, however, comes to a standstill, as Misaki is a little sick, leading to a doctor’s visit when he is diagnosed with progeroid syndrome, a rapidly growing disease.

It is also a very serious condition for Misaki, which leaves him with less than a year to deal with debilitating symptoms.

Misaki, frustrated, goes privately and interrupts Haruto. She also gives up hairdressing and pretends to find work elsewhere.

A few months after leaving him in the dark, he lies and pretends to find someone else, breaking his heart.

He is being cared for by his brother who is trying his best to cure him but to no avail. They even experimented with expensive therapies called electromagnetic therapy, which were performed by an outpatient clinic.

This, however, ended badly as the treatment was fraudulent and the clinic cheated their at-risk patients in search of hope.

In a few months of the year, her condition progresses rapidly, and it slows down her performance, causing her to lose hope in life.

Haruto, though heartbroken, tries to keep going. He concentrates on his work and bears fruit in his efforts, healing a little.
