Jenifas Diary is a Nigerian television comedy series, created by Funke Akindele.
The series is part of the Jenifa franchise, based on an ignorant and humorous character of the same name. Jennifer Diary has 24 seasons and is active and ongoing.
Jenifas diary contain both verbs ‘direct’ and ‘indirect’ speech. The series tells the story of a village girl Jenifa (played by Funke Akindele) who desperately wants to get out of her unpopular lifestyle.
In desperation, he leaves his hometown and moves to the city of Lagos to receive a formal education. Toyosi, an old friend is left with nothing but a place to stay even though his visit has not been announced.
Jenifa did not succeed in her education but got a job at a Nikki’o salon in Island with the help of her friend Kiki, who became very successful in her hairdressing business.
In Nikki’o salon, she meets another style, Segun (played by Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana), who falls in love with her.
Jenifa resists all her promotions stating that she would like to have a relationship with som0eone higher than her in terms of position and education. Jenifa later learns of her plan to visit the USA.
He tells her that he was trying to tell her about his intentions and to help her get out of Nigeria. With Segun gone, work on Nikki’o’s salon resumes.
In the first episode of Season 27, Jenifa meets Marcus, a wealthy businessman. Marcus has hired him as a manager at his new salon. Jenifa asks Toyosi to write a letter of resignation since she is leaving Nikki’O.
One day, Marcus’ wife, Tiana, appears confused. Marcus never told Jennifer about her marital status.
When Jenifa and Adaku and Benny left Nikki’O and Jenifa to search for greener pastures and could no longer resist Tiana, they decided to flee to Nikki’O.
Unbeknownst to Jenifa, Adaku and Benny had written a letter asking for an excuse to leave for a while.
Jenifa left without choosing to return to Nikki’O to plead with Randy, the manager, to hire her. To his surprise, he was welcomed with open arms and news that his demands had been met and that his salary had been increased as requested.
Instead Toyota wrote a letter of resignation instead. Jenifa resumes work at Nikki’O. One day, the CEO of Nikki’O called a meeting and had Jenifa, Adaku and Benny fired for their dishonesty.
The informant who dumped the bean was identified as Pelumi, Jenifa’s rival and hairdresser at Nikki’O.
