Ambulance is an exciting 2022 American film directed and produced by Michael Bay. The co-production between New Republic Pictures, Project X Entertainment, and Bay Films, is based on the 2005 Danish film with the same title as Laurits Munch-Petersen and Lars Andreas Pedersen.
The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Eiza González and follow the two adopted siblings who became bank robbers hijacking an ambulance and kidnapping the first two people.
The ambulance, first announced in 2015, went through several personnel changes before it went into production. In 2020, the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on Bay’s work led him to join the board of directors. Photography took place during a pandemic in Los Angeles with cinematographer Roberto De Angelis. During production, the editing was completed by Pietro Scalia and the musical notes were composed by Lorne Balfe.
The film, originally shown in Paris, France, on March 20, 2022, was released in the United States by Universal Pictures on April 8. The film received various reviews from critics who criticized the film but saw it return to Bay. . It did not work well in the box office, making more than $ 46 million worldwide compared to the $ 40 million budget.
