Tope Alabi – Unless You Bless Me

Veteran Nigerian gospel artist and acclaimed Indigenous singer Tope Alabi releases a new song, “Unless You Bless Me”, available for download/streaming on digital platforms.

“I saw this in the archives and I’m sure it would bless you. Keep holding on to God for what you expect of Him. Keep your hopes alive. God will do it. Rest assured,” Tope shares with Alabi.

Also known for her acting skills, Tope Alabi has released several chart-topping albums and highest-streaming singles over the years, including popular titles such as; “You Are Worthy”, “Mimo L’oluwa”, “Logan Ti O De” and many others.

Recall that in 2020 she released her own “Hymnal” collection (volume 1) produced by Dekunle Oniyo containing songs like “Jesus Ore Otito”, “Loro Lero Ati Ni’se”, “Baba Eleda Laja”, “Eyin Oluwa, Halleluyah” contains ‘More. The 8-track project is available on digital platforms from today.

Biography

Tope Alabi was born on October 27, 1970 in Lagos State. She was born into the family of Pa Joseph Akinyele Obayomi and Madam Agnes Kehinde Obayomi. She is the only daughter of three children in the family. She is from Yewa, Imeko, Ogun State, Nigeria. She received her West Africa School Certificate from Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Ibadan in 1986. After that she went to Polytechnic Ibadan, where she studied mass communication and graduated in 1990.

Alabi was formerly a member of the comedy group Jesters International. She later collaborated with other popular touring and stage theater groups in Ibadan and Lagos. She directed films in Nigeria’s Yoruba film genre.[8] Tope Alabi later changed her focus to gospel music after becoming a born-again Christian.[9] On May 21, 2019, Nigerians crowned Tope Alabi as the Queen of the Yoruba Language on Twitter as a result of a contest held by United Bank for Africa to mark their 70th anniversary.

On June 13, 2021, she was criticized for her comments on a song titled Oniduro Mi, which sparked outrage from other gospel artists.
She is married and has two daughters. She currently attends Living Faith Church.
