Sonic the Hedgehog 2: After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is determined to prove that he has what it takes to be a real hero. His examination comes when Drs. Robotnik returns with a new colleague, Knuckles, in search of a mysterious emerald that has the potential to destroy civilization.

Sonic meets his sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a global tour to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a 2022 action-adventure comedy film based on a video game franchise published by Sega. It is a sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), edited by Jeff Fowler and written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington. Starring Ben Schwartz who also plays the role of Sonic the Hedgehog, alongside James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Idris Elba and Jim Carrey.

The film follows Sonic and Tails, who collaborated to win the Master Emerald before Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles the Echidna did, while competing with the military G.U.N.

After the success of the first film, Paramount Pictures announced its sequence in May 2020, with Fowler returning as director, with Casey and Josh Miller returning as writers, with Schwartz, Carrey and other actors repeating their previous film roles. Recording takes place from March to June 2021 in Vancouver and Hawaii.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released according to theaters in a few markets on March 30, 2022, and released in the United States on April 8, by Paramount Pictures and Sega Sammy Group. Received mixed reviews;

Critics have praised the sequence of action, the concerts, and the humor, but they criticize the screen game, performance time and slow motion. It has made more than $ 242 million worldwide, and is the fifth highest grossing film in 2022. The third film and the Knuckles-focused spin-off series are being developed.
