“The theme of this year’s celebration, ‘Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement,’ is used to highlight the burden of this disease on the world. Malaria affects millions of people every day and has been around for millennia, but it has been hard to eliminate. It is clear that in order to deliver zero malaria, we will need to employ combinations of strategies, look at the problem from many different angles and be innovative.”

Greenlife Pharmaceuticals Limited in a statement explained that according to the latest World Malaria Report, “four African countries accounted for just over half of all malaria deaths worldwide; Nigeria (31.9 per cent), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (13.2 per cent), the United Republic of Tanzania (4.1 per cent), and Mozambique (3.8 per cent). In 2019, there were 303 cases per 1,000 population at risk of malaria.
