Youths under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress youth wing in the United Kingdom on Tuesday congratulated the newly sworn-in president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu.
In a letter signed by their leader, Olumide Awoyemi, the forum urged Tinubu to focus and implement youths-oriented policies.
The PUNCH reports that Tinubu, alongside his Vice-president, Kashim Shettima were sworn in on Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Eagles Square in Abuja.
Tinubu, 71 took over from his party man, the former president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
“President Tinubu’s assumption of duty as President is another opportunity to bring to bear those qualities & attributes that set him apart. This elevation to the highest office in the land represents a resounding endorsement of his leadership qualities, vision, and unwavering dedication to the progress of Nigeria.
“Throughout his illustrious political career, President Tinubu has demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges facing the nation and has consistently worked towards forging unity, fostering economic growth, and championing the well-being of Nigerians.
“Under President Tinubu’s leadership, we anticipate significant strides in various sectors, including the economy, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and security. We are confident that his administration’s policies and initiatives will create an enabling environment that stimulates investment, fosters job creation, and enhances the overall well-being of Nigerians.
“The APC UK Youth Wing would also like to express its appreciation to the Nigerian electorate for their unwavering support, enthusiasm, and commitment to the democratic process. Your active engagement and participation have been integral in shaping this historic outcome, reinforcing the importance of democratic values and principles in Nigeria’s development.”
The forum also expressed its desire to work alongside Tinubu.
