The Home: An Institution For Child Training (3) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo
Topic – The Home: An Institution For Child Training (3)
Dear Reader,
Earlier teachings have held that the home is the primary facility for raising children, and that good example is the tool for raising great children. This week’s lesson will focus on interesting topics with the following titles:
to teach the law of God.
From the beginning, God commanded his parents to teach their children. God said to the ancient Israelites:
These words that I command you today should be in your heart: And you must diligently teach it to your children, and speak of it when you sit at home, when you walk on the road, when you sleep, when you wake up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
This kind of teaching requires more than a weekly church session. It should be a regular habit. A week to make it a way of life (Proverbs 22:6).
Abraham is called a friend of God in James 2:23 was often mentioned by God for teaching his children and his family the way of God.Genesis 18:19 God said of Abraham: For I know that he will command his children and his house after him, and that they will keep the way of the Lord to do righteousness and righteousness. so that what the Lord said about Abraham might come upon him.
King Solomon understood that as we mature, we reflect the education we receive in childhood (Proverbs 22:6). History clearly shows that tragedy occurred when Israel failed to teach and obey the commandments of God as instructed in Deuteronomy 6.
The apostle Paul writes: Also, fathers, do not offend your children. But bring them up in the chastisement and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). This statement is simply a continuation of the same principles God gave to the Israelites in the Old Testament.
A while ago I read a scripture that changed my view of child discipline.
…a wise son makes a happy father:
A foolish son is a burden to his mother (Proverbs 10:1). So the wise son belongs to the father, and the foolish son belongs to the mother! So I told myself that I had to take responsibility so that my child would not be stupid.
If you are a woman reading this article, you must face the mission and responsibility of raising wise children. But if you had children before you were reincarnated and they were thorns in your body, I want you to believe in God for miracles.God makes all things possible.
Today, we still need to teach our children the commandments of God. Applying these commandments provides a moral compass to guide your actions for the rest of your life.
So how can we teach effectively? The bible on parenting shows that God wants you to show the same love, patience, dignity, and respect in working with your children as he does with you. Love is the basic principle of all Christian relationships (Matthew 22:37-40; John 13:34-35). Paul said that keeping the Ten Commandments shows love for God and neighbor (Romans 13:9-10).
As God said to you, because God loves you. Likewise, if you love children, teach them (Hebrews 12:7). Loving a child requires discipline. Creating fair rules and the consequences of breaking those rules has been described as setting boundaries. The purpose of boundaries is to help children learn appropriate behavior and feel safe.
Your attitude towards your child is probably the most important consideration in proper parenting. Your words and actions show whether you love your child or not.
To effectively follow the commandment to raise children, we must identify with Christ by being born again. Being born again means confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Savior and Lord. When you are ready, recite the following prayers with faith.
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to you today. I am a sinner. I accept you as my Lord and personal Savior. Make me a child of God today. Thank you for freeing me from sin and Satan to serve the living God, and thank you for accepting me into your kingdom.
Congrats! If you have said this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now a born again child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read the Bible daily, obey God’s Word, and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
This ensures complete peace and quiet in the name of Jesus! Please contact me by phone or in writing to share your testimony with me.
