Subject: Cast Your Cares on Him

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; because he cares for it. -1 Peter 5: 6

When I first learned to throw my troubles on the Lord, I was down in south Texas preaching a convention that nobody else attended. I tell you, people lived far from that meeting by the thousands; and after one or two services with just a preacher, one or two with me, I started sweating. But the Lord said, “Throw that worry on Me, I do.”

I started grinning and whistling. I told the devil, “I will not be afraid or have one thought. I’ve come here to preach and that’s what I’m going to do, and it’s God’s business whether or not anyone will appear. I didn’t care! ”

I walked away happy and felt stupid. The devil said, “What’s the matter with you? Don’t you think you have enough to worry about something like this? “

But I told the Lord, “I have put up with my care, and if no one comes along except that dear old lady, she will be the most preached woman in the state of Texas because I am leaving. preaching the same way as if it were a crowd. ”

I did not realize then what was going on, but that negligence put me in a position to compromise with the devil. He could no longer reach me. He could no longer make me fear and disbelief. He could not put me down and let me down because I did not care. I have given all my attention to God!

Are you ready to be free from care? If so, just make this confession:

“I am a believer. I am not a skeptic. The Word works in me. And this time, I submit to the mighty hand of God. I throw all my attention upon Him. From this moment on, I don’t want to worry. Instead, I will pray. I’ll exercise my faith and believe, and He’ll raise me up over trouble and upon the devil. Because I belong to Jesus and he cares for me! ”
